The Gothtober Countdown Calendar

The Funny Site of the Day -- Thirty-one Halloween-themed visual treats and tricks pop-up on this ghoulish adventure calendar, some squirmy scary and some silly screwy.

For the 2008 edition, Gothtober says, "As is our annual tradition, we're here to help you count down to the day of Halloween! We present to you the usual time-release selection of 31 works of art behind 31 doors. In it, you will find our specially prepared 'Grab Bag of the Unknown' packed with music, recipes, photos, crafts, paintings, films, and other forms of artistic expression. Our theme this year is 'Haunted Mission de Santa Gothtober' where you can expect to see a Latin take on all things that go bump in the night, from surly sugar skulls, to pumpkin piñatas to cobweb-festooned cholla cactuses."

As I write this report, all entries have not been revealed, but several in the past have definitely not been for children, so beware! A few might not even be for you. When all is dead and spun, these events bring the rush of Halloween back to us grown-up kids.
