''Imagine if the Internet had been around in the early 1960s!'' says this promotional universe for ''The Beatles Are Coming!: The Birth of Beatlemania in America,'' a biography and picture book by Bruce Spizer. ''Experience the birth of Beatlemania through a daily Beatles Blog from 1964!''
As a dorky sixth-grader when John, George, Paul, and Ringo EXPLODED onto the scene, I can attest to Lisa's grasp and clarity and fan fervor, recreating those singular, wonderful days with fascination, love, and devotion.
But is it Humor? I wondered, as I contemplated the project's inclusion on our boss gigglemania site. This morning, sleep-deprived, caffeine-less, and grumpy -- and still, remarkably, Beatle hair tousled, I clicked through My Beatles Blog again. After quite a time, I realize I haven't stopped smiling. Nostalgia can be amusing, and to recall authentic '64 street jargon, this fab Fab Four blab is ''so sharp! And really neat!''
